Turning Christmas Tree Ornaments

  • Blue Heron Woodworking (map)

Turning Christmas Tree ornaments is a fun and rewarding project for the turning hobbyist, especially in the fall. The student will learn the skills needed to turn simple wooden ornaments such as a snowman, ice cycle, colored light bulb, and related items. The coloring process will be demonstrated by the instructor. Time permitting, the instructor will demonstrate the turning of an acrylic ornament using a kit students can later purchase from woodworking suppliers, if desired. Any and all items turned by the student can be taken home to hang on their Christmas tree.

All lathes, tools, sharpening, and chucks will be provided.

Students are encouraged to bring their own tools for use and/or sharpening.

Students should bring work clothing with NO long sleeves or dangling drawstrings.  Long hair MUST be tied back or held in a cap.  No loose jewelry.

Students may bring their own project and materials OR choose from products available at Blue Heron Woodworking Supplies
